## Water Pressure Formula :

Water pressure p_{(pa)} in pascal is equal to density of water ρ _{(kg/m3)} in kilogram meter^{3} and multiply the gravitational force g _{(ms-2)} in meter per second^{-2} and multiply the height h_{(m) } in meter. Hence the water pressure formula can be written as

**Water Pressure _{(pa)} =ρ _{(kg/m3)}*g _{(ms-2)}*h_{(m)}**

Where,

P→ water pressure in pascal

ρ → density of water in kg m^{3}

g→ gravitational force in9.81 ms^{-2}

h→ height in m

The water pressure loss formula due to height h is given as,

Pressure loss =0.4335x h

Where,

h→ denotes the height

### Example 1 :

Calculate the pressure on the take at its bottom? In a tank of height 8cm is filled with water.

### Solution :

Given,

Density of water ρ =1000kg/m^{3}

Acceleration due to gravity g=9.8 m/s^{2}

Height h=8cm

The water pressure formula on the tank is given by

P= ρgh

=1000 × 9.8 × 8=78400pa

### Example 2 :

Calculate the pressure loss when it reaches the surface? In a waterfall has a height of 400m.

Given,

Density of water ρ =1000kg/m^{3}

Acceleration due to gravity g=9.8m/s^{2}

Height h=400m

The pressure loss formula is given by pressure loss= ρgh

=1000 × 9.8 × 400

=39200pa
