## Rotational Inertia Formula :

Rotational Inertia I_{(kg m2)} in kilogram per meter^{2} is equal to the mass of the object m_{(kg)} in kilogram and multiply the radius of the circular path r^{2}_{(m) } in meter. Hence the Rotational Inertia can be written as,

**I _{(kg m2)}=m_{(kg)} * r^{2}_{(m)}**

Where,

I→ rotational inertia in kg m^{2}

M→ mass of the object in kg

R→ radius of the circular path in m

### Example 1 :

Calculate the moment of inertia of the object with mass 40kg and rotating around the radius 8m?

### Solution :

Given,

M=40kg

R=8m

The formula Rotational inertia is

I=mr^{2}

I=40*8^{2}

I=2560Kgm^{2}

### Example 2:

Calculate the moment of inertia of the object with mass 90kg and rotating around the radius 2m?

### Solution :

Given,

M=90kg

R=2m

The formula Rotational inertia is

I=mr^{2}

I=90*2^{2}

I=360 Kgm^{2}
