Prism Formula with Example

Prism Formula :

Prism formula of surface area of a prism(cm) in centimeter is equal to the two and multiply the Base area (cm) in centimeter and addition the lateral surface area(cm) in centimeter of the prism. Hence the prism formula can be written as,

Surface area of a prism(cm) =2* Base area(cm)+lateral surface area(cm)

Volume=Base area * Height

Example :1

Calculate the Base area is 8cm and lateral surface area 20cm and find the surface area of prism?

Answer:

Base area =8cm

Surface area=20cm

Using the formula

Surface area of a prism(cm)=2* Base area(cm)+lateral surface area(cm)

=2*8+20=36cm

Example:2

Calculate the Base area is 16cm and lateral surface area 30cm and find the surface area of prism?

Answer:

Base area =16cm

Surface area=30cm

Using the formula

Surface area of a prism(cm)=2* Base area(cm)+lateral surface area(cm)

=2*16+30=62cm
