Polarization tan θ is equal to the product of the other medium n_{2} is divided by initial medium n_{1 }. Hence the polarization formula has been written as,

**tan θ = n _{2 }/ n_{1}**

Where,

n_{1} → initial medium

n_{2} → other medium

Calculate the value of polarizing light angles when the refractive index of green color glass is 1.562 that of violet color is 1.345.

### Solution :

We have,

n_{1} = 1.562

n_{2} = 1.345

Using the formula we have,

tan θ = n_{2}/n_{1}

tan θ = 1.345/1.562

tan θ = 0.86

θ = 40.73°.

### Sum2 :

Calculate the value of polarizing light angles when the refractive index of green color glass is 1.671 that of violet color is 1.261.

### Solution :

We have,

n_{1} = 1.671

n_{2} = 1.261

Using the formula we have,

tan θ = n_{2}/n_{1}

tan θ = 1.261/1.671

tan θ = 0.75

θ = 37.04°.
