Where,

Volume charge Density,

P=q/v

Where,

q → charge and V is the volume over which it is distributed

S.I unit of Linear charge density is column/m3:

Example :

Calculate the charge density if a charge of 4 c is present in a cube of 5 m2

Solution :

Given,

Charge q=4c

Volume v=5 m2

The charge density formula is given by

P=q/v

=5/4

Charge density p=1.25c/ m3
