## Kinetic Energy Formula :

kinetic energy K.E_{(J) }in Joule is equal to the product of mass of the body m_{(kg) }in kilogram is multiply by the velocity v^{2}_{(m/s)} in meter per second. Hence the kinetic energy formula has been written as,

**K.E _{(J)} = 1/ 2 m_{(kg)} v^{2}_{(m/s)}**

V → velocity with which the body is travelling in (m/s)

Calculate the Kinetic energy? In a car is travelling at a velocity of 4 m/s and it has a mass of 150 Kg.

### Solution :

Given that,

The mass of the vehicle, m = 150 kg,

The velocity of the vehicle, v = 4 m/s

The kinetic of the vehicle is,

K.E = 1/ 2 mv^{2}

^{ }= 1/2 * 150 kg* (4 m/s)^{2}

= 1200 J

Hence, the kinetic energy of the vehicle is equal to 1200 J.

### Example 2:

Calculate the Kinetic energy? In a car is travelling at a velocity of 10 m/s and it has a mass of 2 Kg.

### Solution :

Given that,

The mass of the ball, m = 2 kg,

The velocity of the ball, v = 10 m/s.

The kinetic of the ball is,

K.E = 1/ 2 mv^{2}

= 1/2 * 2 kg * (10 m/s)^{2}

= 100 J.

Hence , the kinetic energy of the ball is equal to 100 J.
