Faraday’s Law / Lenz’s law Formula:

Faraday’s law is EMF_{(v)} in volts is equal to the number of turns of the loop –N and multiply the rate of change of flux dΦ / dt.Hence the Faraday’s law and lenz’s law formula can be written as

EMF_{(v)} = – N _{numbers} * dΦ / dt

Where

N= Number of Windings in Number

dΦ / dt Change of flux with respect to time

Φ = magnetic flux in Tesla

According to the Lenz’s law, the polarity of induced emf e produces a own current which opposes the parent change in flux that produced it. Here the magnetic flux is equal to the product of the magnetic field and the area.

### Example:1

Calculate the induced emf of the coil 180 cm.Sq with 8 turns which kept under a magnet the magnetic field 4T and time is 30 seconds.

### Answer:

Given that

Area of the loop A =180cm=1.8m

Number of turns of the loop N=8

Magnetic field B=4T

Magnetic flux Φ =B* A

=4 *1.8=7.2

Induced EMF =N * dΦ / dt

=-8 *(7.2 /30)

=-1.92

Therefore, the induced EMF is =1.92 v

### Example:2

Calculation for induced emf when the magnet acts on a coil which has an area of 150cm.sq with 5 turns, magnetic field of 2 Tesla and time is 50 seconds.

### Answer:

Given that

Area of the loop A =180cm=1.5m

Number of turns of the loop N=5

Magnetic field B=2T

Magnetic flux Φ =B* A

=2 *1.5=3

Induced EMF =N * dΦ / dt

=-5 *(3 /50)

=-0.3

Therefore, the induced EMF is =-0.3 v
