Fan CFM Formula:

The required fan cubic feet CFM(ft/min) in feet per minute is equal to the power output hp(hp(E) in  Electric horsepower and multiply the constant value 1584170 and divided by the pressure p(pa) in pascal. Hence the fan calculation formula can be written as

CFM(ft/min)=hp(hp(E)*1584170/p(pa)

Here,

CFM = Cubic Feet per minute(Expressed in cu ft/min)

HP = power output (Expressed in Electric horsepowers)

P = Pressure in Pa

Example:1

Calculate the CFM of a fan which runs by 7hp(E) Power and provides the pressure of 3pa.

Answer:

hp =7 hp(E)

P=3Pa

Formula using

CFM(ft/min)=hp(hp(E)*1584170/p(pa)

CFM=7*1584170/3

CFM=3696396.666666666 ft3/min

Example:

Calculate the CFM value? In a power output 28hp(E) and pressure 30pa .

Answer:

hp =28 hp(E)

P=30 Pa

Formula using

CFM(ft/min)=hp(hp(E)*1584170/p(pa)

CFM=28*1584170/30

CFM=1478558.666666666 ft3/min
