Electrical Power Formula:

The electrical power can be calculated from the two circuits such as AC circuits and DC Circuits. Hence for DC circuit Electrical power is P_{(W)} in watts is equal to the current I_{(A)} in Ampere and multiply the voltage V_{(V)} in volts.Hence the Electrical power formula can be written as

P _{(w)}= I _{(A)}* V_{(V)}

For AC Circuits, The power will be based on the input what we have given such as single phase and three phase

P=V * I * Power factor

Here P means, Power in Watts, I means, current in Amps and V means applied voltage. Also from that you can calculate the current flow or applied voltage,

I = P / (V * PF) Amps

V= P / ( I * PF) Volts

### Example:1

Calculate the electrical power? In a current and voltage of an electric circuit are 4.5 A and 25 v respectively, the power factor is 0.85.

### Answer:

Given that

Current I=4.5A

Voltage v= 25v

Power factor PF =0.85

The formula of Electrical power is p= I* V* PF

P=4.5 *25*0.85

P=95.625

Therefore, the electrical power consumed in the circuit is 95.625 watts.

### Example:2

Calculate the electrical power? In a current and voltage of an electric circuit are 8.4 A and 24 v respectively, the power factor is 0.14.

### Answer:

Given that

Current I=8.4A

Voltage v= 24v

Power factor PF =0.14

The formula of Electrical power is p= I* V* PF

P=8.4 *24*0.14

P=28.224

Therefore, the electrical power consumed in the circuit is 28.224 watts.
