Angular momentum Formula is length L(kg m2/s) in kilogram meter2 per second is equal to the linear momentum l (kg m2)  in kilogram meter2 and multiply the Angular speed ω(ms-1) in meter per second -1.Hence the Angular momentum Formula can be written as

L(kg m2/s)=l (kg m2)(ms-1)

Angular momentum in terms of Linear momentum can be written as,

L=r*p

Where,

L→ length in kg m2/s

r→ radius in circle

p→ linear momentum  in kg/s

Solution :

Given Mass M=400kg,

Angular speedω=50ms-1.

Radius r  =2.5m

Since it is a solid cylinder, Moment of Inertia

I=m*r2/2

I=400*2.5*2.5/2

I=1250kg m2

The angular momentum is given by L=l*ω

L=1250*50

L=62500Kg m2/s

Sum2 :

Calculate the angular momentum of the cylinder about its axis? In a solid cylinder of mass 600 kg rotates about its axis with an angular speed of 80ms-1. If the radius of the cylinder is 4.8m.

Solution :

Given Mass M=600kg,

Angular speedω=80ms-1

Radius r  =4.8m

Since it is a solid cylinder, Moment of Inertia

I=m*r2/2

I=600*4.8*4.8/2

I=6912kg m2

The angular momentum is given by L=l* ω

L=6912*80

L=552960Kg m2/s
